One hundred years ago, in 1921, Marion A. Dennis, a fifth-generation direct descendant of the Perkins-Dennis Family, graduated from Bloomsburg State Normal School, in Bloomsburg, PA, following her sister Edith who’d graduated in 1919.  Marion Dennis Polk, the daughter of Sumner Dennis (who was born on the Dennis Farm) and Mary Kinslow Dennis of Wilkes-Barre, and the wife of  Clarence Polk of Milford, Delaware was a teacher in the Milford School District until the 1960s.

Active in community affairs, she was a member St. Paul’s Methodist Church and the National Council of Negro Women. Mrs. Polk passed away in 1968.
