The Dennis Farm Charitable Land Trust will host a kickoff presentation of “Destination Freedom: The Underground Railroad Tour in Northeast Pennsylvania” on May 15 at 1:00 PM at the Semiquincentennial Bell Terrace at Dennis Farm. The event will include featured speakers followed by a guided tour of the historic Farm, an important stop on the Underground Railroad.

As part of the launch, visitors will also learn more about the Farm’s Underground Railroad history through historic artifacts and stories connected to the Dennis family. Featured imagery includes Henry W. Dennis’ 1842 receipt for his subscription to The Volunteer & Star, an abolitionist publication, reflecting the family’s documented connection to anti-slavery activism.
The program is part of the larger Destination Freedom initiative highlighting Underground Railroad history throughout Northeast Pennsylvania.
